Communicating in and from Antarctica is limited to the Iridium satellite network so have just received these two valuable pieces of kit.
Both can be used for voice calls but the Iridium GO! can be paired with a smartphone and can send data plus low resolution pictures. This is a must for updating my blog from the ice, and being able to make calls is essential for my daily check-ins with the team from Antarctic Logistics & Expeditionsback at Union Glacier.
Now I’ve just got to work out how to set them up and give them a test run.
